We have plans to invest £2bn in the local economy

We have exciting plans to inject £2billion into the local economy over the next 10 years through building new homes and creating opportunities for neighbourhoods to flourish, while sustaining 6,500 jobs in the building and supply chain.

Our underlying surplus of £76million is already being ploughed back into building 16,000 affordable homes we have planned over the next 10 years and into supporting communities following our £140million investment in new homes over the last 12 months.

Across the south west we have built 812 affordable homes for rent and shared ownership during the last financial year as well as selling 159 on the open market.

Developing 812 much-needed new homes in the last 12 months for shared ownership,
affordable and social rent provides an ideal springboard for us to continue
to deliver high-quality services that meet our customers’ needs.

Our strong financial performance lays the foundations for our ambitious growth
plans which we have published in our Annual Report and Financial Statements for
2018.

Our aim is to provide the best possible choice, value and service to our customers.
Over 89% of our residents said they were satisfied with our services - a tremendous
achievement by all of our staff who, every day, ensure customer service is at the
heart of what we do.

Engaging with our customers has shaped our programme of digital change, which will make it easier for customers to do business with us in ways that are most convenient and cost-effective.

Listening to our customers and acting on their feedback continues to be fundamental to what we do, underlined by the extensive customer consultation that took place during our merger.

We are currently developing LiveWest’s customer engagement strategy and will be working with customers on this during autumn 2018. We are also developing our LiveWest approach to community investment, with plans to identify priority neighbourhoods, across our region.

This year we spent £55m on maintaining and improving existing homes, supported 550 people to live independently and helped 467 customers get closer to finding employment.

We have over 1, 400 skilled and enthusiastic employees, living our values and making our strategy happen with 24 apprentices working across the business.

We have donated over 500 hours of volunteer time in our communities. We have recently invested in our three office hubs in Exeter, Cornwall and Weston-super-Mare, ensuring our staff are at the heart of our communities and can give customers choice in how we work with them to achieve their goals.

Our teams have been up for an abundance of awards this year, for example Ross Jasper , a Trainee Neighbourhood Manager, was nominated for the Inspiration Award in the National Foyer Federation’s ‘Spark Awards’ as well as being highly commended at the National Apprenticeship Awards. Ross lived at one of LiveWest’s young people’s foyers, whilst being supported by the foyer team to realise his talent. Amanda Bennett, our Resettlement Manager, has been shortlisted for a Women in Housing award in the Inclusion Champion category for her work helping to rehouse Syrian war refugees under the Vulnerable Person Resettlement Programme (VPR).

Our people make things happen and we are continuously improving to ensure that LiveWest is a fantastic place to work, thrive and deliver great services.

What’s more our growth ambitions have been accelerated through our selection by Homes England to deliver a further 2,275 homes by 2024 in partnership with
Sovereign and the support of £112million of capital grant funding.

That will mean an additional 1,000 homes over the next five years for social rent,
affordable rent and shared ownership in areas where there is, without doubt, a
critical need for essential housing against a backdrop of economic pressures
